Along with Marianne & Michael seeing and hearing a wonderful variety  
of birds in Lebanon, I heard the lovely plaintiff song of the whip- 
poor-will in a small pine clearing near our home in Norwich.
The call unmistakable, the bird elusive. Hearing it brought back farm  
and field memories from a childhood spring.
