I first saw a Red-bellied Woodpecker at my feeder in November 2014. This was a male, and he stayed around fairly regularly through 2015 and 2016. In May, 2016, a female appeared, and they both came from time to time. Then in June of 2016, we saw a young one which came with the male to the tree outside our window. The adult male would come to the feeder, but the youngster always stayed on the tree.
For quite a while now, we have seen the female from time to time, including this morning, but have not seen the male for a long time. I don’t know if this female is the original female or the young one grown up.
