This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, January 27th, 
2010.



A THICK-BILLED MURRE was seen at the south end of Jenness Beach in Rye on 
January 23rd.



A female BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was seen close to shore just south of Concord 
Point in Rye on January 23rd.



2 pairs of GADWALLS were seen in South Mill Pond in Portsmouth on January 
23rd, and a female AMERICAN WIGEON was seen in Sagamore Creek, also on the 
23rd.



A male NORTHERN PINTAIL was seen in the Seabrook Duck Pond on January 24th.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen on Bow Bog Road in Bow on January 22nd.



A gray-morph EASTERN SCREECH-OWL has been seen regularly along Route 1A in 
Rye, roosting in a tree about 100-yards north of the entrance to Odiorne 
Point State Park, and was last reported on January 23rd.



A GLAUCOUS GULL was again seen in the vicinity of the Yankee Fisherman's 
Coop in Seabrook on January 24th.



An ICELAND GULL was seen in Rye Harbor on January 24th, and an ICELAND GULL 
that was first reported at the Derry Wastewater Treatment Plant on the 20th, 
has been seen several times since then and was last reported on the 26th. 
The treatment plant is closed Sunday and Monday and if you visit, please 
check in at the office.



A BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was seen from Great Boar's Head in Hampton on 
January 24th.



30 PURPLE SANDPIPERS were reported from Wallis Sands in Rye on January 27th.



A "SOOTY" FOX SPARROW, a subspecies normally occurring near the Pacific 
coast, is being regularly seen at a private home in Barrington, and was last 
reported on January 24th.



40 SNOW BUNTINGS were seen at the UNH Dairy Farm fields on January 25th, 
and10 SNOW BUNTINGS and 19 HORNED LARKS were seen in fields at Chickering 
Farm in Westmoreland on January 23rd.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen in Portsmouth on January 23rd, one was seen on 
the water tower in Hampton on the 24th, and one was seen on a church steeple 
in Concord on the 27th.



An AMERICAN KESTREL was seen behind the Target store in Keene on January 
21st.



A pair of BALD EAGLES was reported from Plainfield on January 24th.



A male BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen on the Little Cherry Pond Trail at 
the Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson on January 21st.



A RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET was seen at a feeder in Concord on January 21st.
