Cooper’s Hawk perched in a drizzly rain, wondering at its prospects in a spring rain. It has lorded over the bird feeders for the better part of an hour. Its helmeted flat grey head is quite unsettling. High above it a lone Mourning Dove keeps careful watch as a lone grey squirrel boldly comes forth. Its patience has outlasted me; I am off to seed cucumbers.
