Flickers are rare visitors here in summer, but it must have been a good year for them somewhere because we have seen many passing through in the last week or so, quite a few on the back roads too.
Flock of more than a dozen white-throated sparrows stayed 2 days. Also two rose-br grosbeaks, a female and a juvenile male starting to have a pink bib.
The pond is very, very low. Lots of sand bars, and sandpipers! Too far to identify.
