This weekend down on River Rd in Plainfield by McNamara's farm, a mature bald eagle flew overhead and grabbed a large dead branch in flight, broke it off and took it to the nest in the pine across from McNamara's driveway. Another adult was sitting on the nest. A third adult was perched in a tree down the road at the next farmhouse. That was a firstfor me to see an eagle in flight snap off a tree branch.
