This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, August 10th, 
2011.



Birders viewing coastal migration from the Ragged Neck portion of Rye Harbor 
State Park on August 7th reported the following mostly migrant birds: 3 
BLACK TERNS, a LEAST TERN, 2 UNIDENTIFIED JAEGERS, 17 MANX SHEARWATERS, 12 
WILSON'S STORM-PETRELS, 516 NORTHERN GANNETS, 6 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 81 
SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, a LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 23 WHIMBRELS, 10 RUDDY 
TURNSTONES, 20 SANDERLINGS, 101 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 2 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 
a WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER, 5 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, 12 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 
1,107 UNIDENTIFIED "PEEPS"(SMALL SANDPIPERS), and 11 TREE SWALLOWS.



A LEAST TERN was seen in Hampton Harbor on August 10th. Also present were 
ROSEATE TERNS, COMMON TERNS, and a few shorebirds.



A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen on Jenness Beach in Rye on August 7th.



A pair of WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS, and an AMERICAN BITTERN were reported 
from the Trudeau Road trails in Bethlehem on August 6th.



A WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL, and an OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER were reported from 
Mud Pond in the Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson on August 
6th.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen perched on the South Congregational Church 
steeple in Concord on August 5th.



A RINGED TURTLE-DOVE, a species not native to North America, and probably 
escaped from captivity, was reported from Nashua on August 2nd and again on 
the 4th.
