Despite a low of 24 degrees, the birds were singing away. The Towhee looked like it was questioning its decision to travel North. Janet and I had excellent views of a Blue-headed Vireo. A Verry was virtually stationary for a full 5 minutes at 40 feet, down in the Taylor Preserve. We finally heard another Killdeer. We caught a glimpse of a Wood Thrush. The Black and White Warbler was very active. All of the usual suspects were out despite the increasing wind.
We don’t have an “official” birding walk here this year; however, I encourage folks to come by and go off on their own. There are over a 100 acres here to bird. We should be able to keep distance. Saturday looks like a beautiful morning. And there is no Balloon Festival this Saturday.
