From the beach at Kennedy Pond, Windsor, I watched the immature Greater Cormorant who was lying down on the swimming dock in the afternoon sun. After awhile it stood up and defecated. It stretched first one wing then the other and it yawned. Then it pulled up its left leg and continued to sun bathe.

I watched 7 Common Mergansers in the distance diving.

Then the Cormorant dove into the water and went fishing. It took a short dive followed by some long ones, ending over on the east side of the pond near the shore, when I left.

It appeared to be in good shape!

Cecelia
