This was the third day in a row that I've seen tons of interesting birds and
today's was a Carolina wren . Although At first I thought it was a winter
wren, I also heard its song, which was a Carolina's. Also, it turns out what
I thought was a hooded warbler call was a Carolina wren.

Possible hooded warbler heard in the Milt Frye nature area this morning. Although it did not sing the full hooded warbler call, it sounded more like a Hooded warbler than any other bird. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: UV-BIRDERS automatic digest system <[log in to unmask]> Date: Fri, Aug 12, 2011 at 12:01 AM Subject: UV-BIRDERS Digest - 10 Aug 2011 to 11 Aug 2011 (#2011-10) To: [log in to unmask] [image: LISTSERV mailing list manager] <http://www.lsoft.com> [image: LISTSERV 15.0]<http://listserv.dartmouth.edu/scripts/wa.exe?LIST=UV-BIRDERS> UV-BIRDERS Digest - 10 Aug 2011 to 11 Aug 2011 (#2011-10) Table of contents: - American Redstart female <#131bc27229e6773b_S1> - Fwd: eBird Report - Old Bridge Rd./Kendall Station Rd., Norwich, Aug 11, 2011 <#131bc27229e6773b_S2> 1. This is a reminder announcement for an upcoming bird walk. On Saturday August 20, 2011, the Mascoma Chapter of the Audubon Society of New Hampshire will offer a bird walk led by George Clark from 7:00 to 9:30 AM at Lake Runnemede and Paradise Park in Windsor, VT. This walk is free and open to the public. Participants should be prepared to walk as much as two miles over uneven and possibly damp ground. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome. Bring binoculars if available. We'll be especially looking for fall migrant birds. In case of steady heavy rain or thundershowers, this walk will be canceled. Road and carpooling instructions: From Exit 9 off I-91 in Hartland, VT, turn south on Route 5 towards Windsor. After going about 3 miles southward on Route 5, look for the Back Forty guns and ammo store on the left, with a Price Chopper supermarket just beyond, also on the left. This walk will begin at 7:00 AM by the entrance to a long driveway directly across Route 5 from the Back Forty store. Please do not drive into that driveway, vehicular use of which is reserved for local residents. Parking is available along Route 5. Carpoolers from towns around the Hanover/Norwich area are to leave from the River Road commuter parking lot in Norwich by the Ledyard Bridge at 6:30 AM that Saturday. **************************************************************** To post messages, send e-mail to: [log in to unmask] Set your e-mail application to PLAIN TEXT ONLY to post messages.
