Sorry for the late notice. I watched a Winter Wren hopping along a little
stream in Mink Brook Nature Preserve yesterday evening (I didn't have a
great look but it seemed to be drinking, as well as looking for food). Last
week I had a nice view of a Sharp-shinned Hawk in my backyard—several upset
chickadees clued me in. The large number of American Robins in Mink Brook
Nature Preserve temporarily declined during the cold spell of last week.
Even during the cold spell, however, there were quite a lot of them in Esther
Currier Wildlife Management Area (or Low Plain Natural Area) in New London,
NH.
