I just wanted to say that I took the suggestions of Doug and Cecelia to
contact the Norwich Police about the gunshots that I was hearing through
the day a few days ago .. I actually emailed after hours, and a very nice
officer came out to talk yesterday morning. But as I suspected, there
doesn't seem to be anything that they can do. It isn't illegal to shoot on
your own property as long as you're not endangering anyone, and he agreed
that even if they are shooting at things they shouldn't be, it wouldn't be
easy to prove it. He did say that when I hear it again to call and let them
know and they can probably come out and try to listen and track down at
least where it's coming from.  I guess I'll just have to try to ignore it
again.
