For the second time within 3 weeks, I witnessed a hawk attack on a bird
visiting our feeders this morning. A cooper's hawk nabbed a female
cardinal, then proceeded to feast on it for about forty minutes. What
was really amazing and unexpected was that after it flew away, a barred
owl immediately flew in to claim the rest. A great day to be watching
the feeders.
