Today Ed Hack and I looked for birds at several localities in Windsor
County, Vermont. Here are some highlights.
Lake Runnemede in Windsor: Roughly 400 Canada Geese, 7 Black Ducks, 5
Ring-necked Ducks, 3 Greater Scaup (identified by head shape and bill
size), 1 Pied-billed Grebe, 1 Belted Kingfisher, 3 Common Ravens, 1
American Tree Sparrow, 2 House Finches.
North Hartland including the mouth of the Ottauquechee River: 4 Hooded
Mergansers, 3 American Robins.
North Hartland Lake (Reservoir) accessed from the part of Clay Hill
Road between its intersections with Grout Road and Quechee Road in
Hartland: 1 Belted Kingfisher, 1 Song Sparrow
Lake Pinneo in Quechee (Hartford): 4 Common Mergansers, 1 Great Blue
Heron
