This afternoon, a Sharp-shinned hawk flew into our window. Luckily, it was only stunned, and my mom was able to pick it up and place it into the bush near our feeders. He flew off after being scolded by the chickadees for a few minutes, but not before I got this photo: https://www.flickr.com/photos/68961563@N02/15775865517/in/photostream/

Not long after, a Barred Owl appeared and perched for a long time on the fence we have around our garden. We watched it for a long time changing position and looking (and listening) down at the snow before it finally struck and grabbed a large vole-like creature. We got to watch the owl eat it, taking only three swallows. By that time it was too dark for photography, but I did get this photo earlier: https://www.flickr.com/photos/68961563@N02/15776885027/in/photostream/
