See the latest blog from the Norwich 2010 Bird Quest at
http://vtecostudies.blogspot.com/2010/04/norwich-bird-quest-73-species-and.html

Spring migrant birds are now arriving in numbers, and new species for
the year are appearing almost daily. A list of species found so far in
2010 was issued this morning (see
http://www.vtecostudies.org/quest/birdreport.html ) but is already
incomplete because of an Osprey seen flying up the Connecticut River
by the Ledyard Bridge early this afternoon.

A Quest birding trip along the Connecticut River is to be on Saturday
April 17, 2010.
Meet at 8:00 am at Dan & Whit's General Store for a carpooled morning
birding trip led by Norwich resident Chris Rimmer. We'll check several
sites between the Wilder Dam and mouth of the Ompompanoosuc River,
mostly in search of water birds but with hopes of some migrant
songbirds and always the possibility of an unexpected species.
Walking will be moderate and mostly on fairly level ground, but with
some rougher spots and mild inclines. Dress warmly and bring
binoculars and spotting scopes if available. Children are welcome with
an accompanying adult. This trip is free and open to both Norwich
residents and others. The trip will be held regardless of weather
conditions, but be aware that poor weather will reduce the chances of
seeing many birds. We'll plan to return by about 11:00 am.
