Tonight was another good night for nighthawks. I saw about 80 over downtown Hanover as I passed through on my way to walk the River Trail. Along the River Trail, I counted 207 nighthawks, mainly in three big groups. The biggest highlight of my walk, however, was an American Bittern standing out in the shallow water of Mink Brook.
