A White-winged Scoter was diving in tandem with a single male Common
Merganser below the dam at noon today. This is very likely the same
bird by Spencer Hardy found above the dam about 10 days ago and seen
again on the 1st. I believe it's a female (2 distinct whitish facial
patches), but some consider it to be a first-winter male. Also below
the dam were the adult Bald Eagle and 3 Hooded Mergansers.

At the entrance to Kilowatt, a N. Mockingbird flew across Passumpsic
Ave. No birds on the open water north of the boat access.
