This is New Hampshire Audubon’s Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, October 2nd, 
2013.



A BLACK SKIMMER was seen in Hampton Harbor on October 1st and 2nd.



A SEDGE WREN, a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW, and a DICKCISSEL were seen at the 
Concord Community Gardens along Birch Lane off of Clinton Street in Concord 
on September 29th, and a previously reported BLUE GROSBEAK (in brown 
plumage) was still being seen there as of the 27th.



A CONNECTICUT WARBLER was seen along the CONNECTICUT RIVER in Hinsdale on 
September 26th.



2 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS were seen at Moore fields adjacent Route 155A in 
Durham on September 29th.



A YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was seen at White’s Farm in Concord on September 
27th, but has not been relocated.



A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was reported from Barrington on September 29th.



14 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, a BONAPARTE'S GULL, a GREAT CORMORANT, 10 
BLUE-WINGED TEAL, and 15 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were all reported from World End 
Pond in Salem on September 29th.



3 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were seen at Horseshoe Pond in Concord on October 1st.



A NELSON’S SPARROW was seen at Horseshoe Pond in Concord on September 26th, 
and a WILSON’S SNIPE was also present.



4 BLUE-WINGED TEAL were seen at Mascoma Lake in Enfield on September 26th.



5 NORTHERN SHOVELERS, a BLUE-WINGED TEAL, and 7 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were seen 
at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on September 29th.



A RUDDY DUCK and a BLUE-WINGED TEAL were reported from the Mink Brook Nature 
Preserve in Hanover on September 27th.



A RUSTY BLACKBIRD was seen in Nashua on September 29th.



An OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER was seen in Pittsfield on September 26th.



There were several reports of WILSON’S WARBLER, TENNESSEE WARBLER, and 
BLACKPOLL WARBLER during the past week.



30 AMERICAN PIPITS were reported from Mount Washington near the Lake of the 
Clouds on September 28th.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen at Horseshoe Pond in Concord on October 2nd.



RAPTOR migration is under way with nearly 10,000 migrating raptors already 
reported from the Pack Monadnock Raptor Migration Observatory in 
Peterborough, and over 10,000 reported from the Carter Hill Observatory in 
Concord, all since September 1st. Be sure to visit these New Hampshire 
Audubon sponsored observatories this fall season to help out with the count!
