More than 60 species have been found in Norwich, VT, bird walks during the first two field days (May 6 and 7) of Norwich Bird Week (May 5-14). See today's Valley News (Page F4) for an article on the background of Norwich Bird Week, which has been organized by the Norwich Conservation Commission. At least eleven species of warblers have been recorded in Norwich this weekend. A new compilation for Bird Week from eBird by Doug Hardy shows that over 200 species of wild birds have been found in Norwich during the past 17 years. No additional species have been added to the town list thus far during these first two days afield of Bird Week, but we can always hope.
