If you have not yet seen a pine grosbeak this fall and happen to be in West Lebanon, have a look at the large crab apple tree behind McDonald's. It still has a lot of quarter inch bright red fruit and there have been several female grosbeaks there for the past 3 days, at least. I saw 6 two days ago and 3 today. Be aware that the tree has a very dense branch structure, substantially interfering with visibility. In addition, the birds tend to remain in one place, while chowing down.
Also, there continue to be ring-billed gulls hanging out in the vicinity, looking for happy meal garbage, and there's a hangout spot for a northern mockingbird among bittersweet vines hanging densely from an adjacent tree.
