This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, November 
30th, 2011.



A GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was seen on Great Bay from the Great Bay 
Discovery Center in Greenland on November 30th.



3 EURASIAN WIGEON, 36 AMERICAN WIGEON, 4 REDHEADS, 900 GREATER SCAUP, 36 
COMMON GOLDENEYE, 660 AMERICAN BLACK DUCKS, 25 BONAPARTE'S GULLS, 29 
AMERICAN COOT, 11 RUDDY DUCKS, and 7 HORNED GREBES were tallied on Great Bay 
from the Greenland side on November 26th. Also seen in the area were 12 SNOW 
BUNTINGS.



A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen near the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on 
November 24th, and one was seen at Merrymeeting Marsh in Alton on the 30th.



A YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was seen in thickets along Route 1B in New Castle on 
November 27th.



A GLAUCOUS GULL was seen on the Seabrook side of Hampton Harbor on November 
27th.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE has been seen regularly in the Community Gardens located 
off of Route 13 in Concord since mid-November and was last reported on 
November 30th, and one was seen at the Bellamy Wildlife Management Area in 
Dover on the 27th.



A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was seen with a flock of 35 HORNED LARKS in the field 
adjacent to Horseshoe Pond in Concord on November 24th.



3 PINE GROSBEAKS were seen at a residential feeder in Hanover on November 
25th.



3 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were heard (but not seen) at NH Audubon's 
dePierrefeu-Willard Pond Wildlife Sanctuary in Antrim on November 29th.



A CAPE MAY WARBLER was seen at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye on November 
26th and 27th.



A WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER and a PECTORAL SANDPIPER were seen in a flooded 
farm field off of Portsmouth Avenue in Greenland on November 25th.



15 PURPLE SANDPIPERS were seen along the coast, and an AMERICAN BITTERN was 
seen in Hampton Marsh, all on November 26th.



60 LESSER SCAUP were seen at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on 
November 25th, and 18 SNOW BUNTINGS and a GRAY CATBIRD were seen here on the 
26th.



2 RED-NECKED GREBES, a LONG-TAILED DUCK, 2 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS, and a 
RED-BREASTED MERGANSER were reported from Spofford Lake in Chesterfield on 
November 27th.



A BLACK SCOTER was seen at Pontook Reservoir in Dummer on November 22nd.



A flock of 12 COMMON GOLDENEYE was seen on the Magalloway River in Errol on 
November 22nd.



A RED-THROATED LOON and 3 NORTHERN PINTAILS were seen on the Connecticut 
River near Hanover on November 23rd.



A NORTHERN PINTAIL was seen at Merrymeeting Marsh in Alton on November 30th.



13 BUFFLEHEAD, 14 AMERICAN COOT, 5 LESSER SCAUP, a RING-NECKED DUCK, 2 
COMMON GOLDENEYE, a SURF SCOTER, and a BALD EAGLE were seen on Eel Pond in 
Rye on November 26th.



A RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET was seen along Church Street, and a GRAY CATBIRD was 
seen at Odiorne Point State Park, both in Rye on November 27th.



A CAROLINA WREN was reported from Hanover on November 25th.



A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was seen along River Road in Penacook on November 
27th.



An EASTERN MEADOWLARK was seen near the Community Gardens on Clinton Street 
in Concord on November 23rd.



A birder on a boat trip out of Hampton Harbor visiting Jeffrey's Ledge 
reported seeing 50 GREAT SHEARWATERS, over 100 NORTHERN FULMARS, 30 
BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES, an ICELAND GULL, 5 RAZORBILLS, 4 COMMON MURRES, an 
ATLANTIC PUFFIN, and over 250 DOVEKIES on November 27th.
