This is the Vermont Rare Bird Alert for June 25, 2007 covering the period
June 18 - 24, 2007.
This week's highlights were two SANDHILL CRANE sightings in Waitsfield (1
bird in a field off the East Warren Road on 6/16 and a pair at a pond on
Rolston Road on 6/17) and a SEMIPALMATED PLOVER on Shelburne Bay on 6/21.
A GREAT EGRET and two CASPIAN TERNS were seen at the LaPlatte River Marsh in
Shelburne on 6/21.
A YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO was observed at the Helen Buckner Preserve at Bald
Mt. on 6/17 as well as at the West Rutland Marsh on 6/23.
Two GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS were spotted at the Franklin County State Airport
on 6/17 and again on 6/24.
