Sorry for the short notice, but it has just been decided that the next
2011 Windsor County Birding Quest bird walk will be held tomorrow
morning, Saturday Septmber 17, 2011. Those wishing to carpool should
come to Dan & Whit's on Main Street in Norwich at 7:15 AM, when we'll
leave to start birding at 7:30 AM at the intersection of Tucker Hill
and Bragg Hill Roads in Norwich. Leaders will include Chris Rimmer and
Spencer Hardy. This trip will feature up to two hours of birding in
the fabled Norwich beaver pond marsh area where, on great fall days,
migrating warblers are star attractions. Although no guarantees can be
offered about the species or numbers to be seen tomorrow, this trip is
free and open to the public. Children accompanied by an adult are
welcome. Bring binoculars. Dress warmly. Wear sturdy waterproof boots
and be prepared to slog about in rough and wet terrain. Standing in
ankle deep water may be necessary. A rain jacket may be helpful when
brushing past six foot high, dew-soaked, marsh vegetation.
