Some highlights among 27 bird species seen in Norwich today included
a) a Double-crested Cormorant, 6 Hooded Mergansers, and a Belted
Kingfisher at Foley Park, b) a Red-tailed Hawk and a male Red-winged
Blackbird at Pompy,
c) a Great Blue Heron along Campbell Flats Road,
and d) a Sharp-shinned Hawk, 3 male Red-winged Blackbirds, a Common
Grackle, and a Purple Finch here in the backyard in Norwich village.
In late morning along Campbell Flats Road, about 160 American Crows
