This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, April 29th, 
2019.



A SUMMER TANAGER was seen in Nashua on April 29th.



A YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was seen in Sunapee on April 26th, and 1 was seen 
in South Hampton on the 27th, but neither bird has been relocated.



An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen in Keene on April 23rd.



A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was seen in Keene on April 24th.



A DICKCISSEL was seen visiting a birdfeeder in Hampton on April 28th.



A migrating GOLDEN EAGLE was seen in Hollis, and another migrating GOLDEN 
EAGLE was seen in Stoddard, both on April 25th. There was an unconfirmed 
report of a GOLDEN EAGLE in Tamworth on the 23rd.



A TRUMPETER SWAN was discovered at NH Audubon’s Abe Emerson Marsh in Candia 
on April 13th, has continued being seen there, and was last reported on the 
27th.



A SANDHILL CRANE was seen in Rochester on April 24th, and 1 was reported 
from Freemont on the 23rd.



An adult LITTLE BLUE HERON was seen in Salem on April 26th, a TRICOLORED 
HERON was reported from Durham on the 27th, a GLOSSY IBIS was seen in 
Hinsdale on the 27th, and a GREAT EGRET was seen in Jefferson on the 28th.



A COMMON GALLINULE was seen at the Dillant-Hopkins Airport in Swanzey on 
April 27th and 28th.



A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen at Hampton Beach State Park on April 
22nd, and an ICELAND GULL was seen along the coast in Hampton on the 28th.



2 BONAPARTE’S GULLS were seen on the Connecticut River in Hinsdale several 
times during the past week.



2 SNOW GEESE were seen flying overhead in Etna on April 28th.



7 RUDDY DUCKS were seen on the Connecticut River in Hinsdale, and 2 were 
seen on the Connecticut River at the Kilowatt South Park, all on April 28th.



2 LESSER SCAUP and a GREATER SCAUP were seen on Spofford Lake in 
Chesterfield on April 23rd.



A BLUE_WINGED TEAL was seen at Horseshoe Pond in Concord on April 25th, and 
an AMERICAN WIGEON was seen there on the 28th.



2 GADWALL were seen at the Dillant-Hopkins Airport in Swanzey on April 28th.



A LESSER YELLOWLEGS was seen in fields along Route 11B in Gilford on April 
27th.



A flock of 6 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS was seen in Berlin on April 27th.



A flock of 23 EVENING GROSBEAKS, and a flock of 9 COMMON REDPOLLS were all 
seen at a feeding station in Jefferson on April 23rd.



A flock of 9 EVENING GROSBEAKS was seen in Lyndeborough on April 27th, a 
flock of 6 was seen in Durham on the 27th, and a flock of 8 was seen in 
Nottingham on the 26th.



A flock of 21 COMMON REDPOLLS was seen at a feeder in Errol on April 26th.



A BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen near the trailhead to Little Cherry Pond 
in the Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson on April 28th.



New spring arrivals reported during the past week included: WILLET, SORA, 
BANK SWALLOW, CLIFF SWALLOW, PURPLE MARTIN, EASTERN KINGBIRD, EASTERN 
WHIP-POOR-WILL, WARBLING VIREO, OVENBIRD, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, ROSE-BREASTED 
GROSBEAK, and a BALTIMORE ORIOLE.
