At about 6 pm, 40+ nighthawks were swirling over the woods on our hill. With all the trees I can only say I saw 40 I could count at one time. Off Whipple Hill in Lyme, NH.
Also, this afternoon driving south on I-91 at about 2 pm this afternoon, I saw what appeared to be an adult bald eagle standing on the exposed flats of the Ompomanoosuc. Did anyone else see it? (I couldn't pull over to get a better look because of traffic, and although I was sure it was an eagle at first, it could have been a stump with a bleached bit at the top, even though I convinced myself I saw it walking around.)
