I spent some 4+ hours catching and binocularing butterflies yesterday.
Started ~ 9:15.
Not too hot  :~)

I started hunting below the dam, near the power plant. Many Eastern-tailed
Blues, Pearl Crescents
and 1 Question Mark,  that I caught.

Then to the dike, the road is on top and takes one into the property.  I bf
there regularly.  Milkweed is fading by BUT the Acineacea(Purple Coneflower)
is coming on strong. I love the habitat and behavior complexities of birds,
and the nectar plants is a fascinating component of the butterfly world. Ah
yes, it is all about food.   The Bfs were on the Acinacea !!!  and there is
lots of it !

This singular area produces many species and many individuals !!!  (check it
out sometime, and then go for a swim or a paddle !!)

Black Swallowtails    8 there!!
Clouded Sulphurs
Am Ladies
Monarchs    4 there
Dun Skippers
Red Admirals
1 Milbert's Tourtoiseshell
5 Aphrodite Frittilary's
3 No Broken Dash

Then a few other spots...  1 Viceroy, No Crescents, and more of the others.

So... check out the HArtland Dam.
