The Vesper Sparrow at Ledyard Bridge was still present when I left it at 5 PM. It was very cooperative, as it stayed right out in the open and gave me excellent views for the entire 15 minutes I spent watching it. As Chris said, the bird was in the railroad office parking lot immediately north of Ledyard Bridge (on the Vermont side). It was foraging on the ground near the southwest corner of the parking lot, pretty close to the railroad tracks. Two Song Sparrows were right there as well.
Many thanks to Chris for the great find and the timely report!
