This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, November 23rd, 
2015.



A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen from Pack Monadnock in Peterborough on November 
16th.



At least 2 EURASIAN WIGEON, and 2 REDHEADS were all seen on Great Bay from 
the Greenland side on November 21st.



2 HARLEQUIN DUCKS, a THICK-BILLED MURRE, and 3 BLACK GUILLEMOTS were seen 
from Great Boar’s Head in Hampton on November 19th.



Birders on a boat cruise off of the coast on November 16th reported a 
HARLEQUIN DUCK, 4 NORTHERN FULMARS, 22 GREAT SHEARWATERS, 6 NORTHERN 
GANNETS, 3 DOVEKIES, 2 RAZORBILLS, and 13 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES. Not all 
sightings were from New Hampshire waters.



2 NORTHERN SHOVELERS were seen at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on 
November 21st.



More than 100 RUDDY DUCKS were seen on Beaver Lake in Derry on November 
20th.



A LONG-TAILED DUCK was seen on the Connecticut River above the Wilder Dam on 
November 20th.



A lone BRANT was seen in Hampton Harbor on November 17th.



3 AMERICAN COOTS were seen on World End Pond in Salem on November 17th.



A GLAUCOUS GULL continues to be seen on the Seabrook side of Hampton Harbor, 
and was last reported on November 21st.



A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen at Hampton Beach State Park on November 
19th.



2 PURPLE SANDPIPERS were seen in Rye Harbor on November 21st.



A WILSON’S SNIPE was reported from Horseshoe Pond in Merrimack on November 
18th.



A possible WESTERN MEADOWLARK was seen and photographed near North Hampton 
State Park on November 16th, but has not been relocated.



An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen near the Beckman’s Landing parking area 
in Seabrook on November 21st.



A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was seen in Gilsum on November 17th.



At least 4 FOX SPARROWS, and at least 5 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS including 1 
of the “Gambel’s” western taiga subspecies, were all seen at Great Bay Farm 
in Greenland on November 21st.



A group of 5 FISH CROWS was seen in Salem on November 19th.



2 GRAY JAYS were seen in Pittsburg on November 18th.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen atop the Christian Science Church in Concord on 
November 17th.



A few lingering RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS, PALM WARBLERS, YELLOW-RUMPED 
WARBLERS, RUSTY BLACKBIRDS, and HERMIT THRUSHES were reported during the 
past week.
