Thanks for the info. I checked the NH Fish and Game site and learned that 13,500 adults were released last fall. I emailed them to see if they have any idea what the survival rate (hunters and winter) to spring is...

hi margaret,

the pheasants are raised by the state, either nh or vt , for hunters in the fall.  rarely do they survive the year because of hunters and predators.   they also nest on the ground which makes it easy for the coyotes and other predators to find them.  it's great to see that some are surviving.  maybe more will survive and they will become more common in our areas.

this information actually comes from the vt fish and game dept.
