From 10:00 AM to Noon on Saturday September 13, 2013, the Mascoma
Chapter of New Hampshire Audubon is to hold a hawk watch at the
Lebanon (NH) Airport. This event is free and open to the public. Bring
binoculars and scopes if available and sun screen. Migrating Broad-
winged Hawks tend to be frequently seen around that time, but numerous
other species have also been seen in the past from that location. In
case of inclement weather (such as heavy, steady, rain or persistent
fog), the watch will be held on September 14 with the same start and
finish times.
Road instructions: From Exit 20 off I-89 in West Lebanon, NH, turn
south on Route 12A.
Then take the first major left turn onto Airport Road. Continue until
reaching the airport, bear left, and pass the control tower into the
parking lot beyond, which is to be the site for the hawk watch.
