This is a reminder that from 7:30 to 10:30 AM on Saturday August 24,
2013, a Windsor County 2013 Birding Quest bird walk is to be held in
Windsor, VT, starting at Lake Runnemede and possibly continuing to a
second site in Windsor if time allows. Chris Rimmer, Spencer Hardy,
and George Clark are to lead. With fall migration underway, we'll be
especially seeking migrant birds of all kinds. This walk is free and
open to the public. Bring binoculars and scopes if available.
Participants should be prepared to walk as much as a mile over fairly
level but uneven terrain. In case of continuous heavy rain or
thundershowers, the walk is to be postponed until the following morning.

Road and carpooling instructions: From Exit 9 off I-91, turn south on
Route 5 towards Windsor. After going about 3 miles southward on Route
5, look for the Back Forty guns and ammo store on the left, with a
Price Chopper supermarket just beyond, also on the left. This walk
will begin at 7:30 AM by the entrance to a long driveway directly
across Route 5 from the Back Forty store. Please do not drive into
that driveway, vehicular use of which is reserved for local residents.
Parking is available along Route 5, but be sure your site is legal.

Carpoolers from towns around the Hanover/Norwich area are to leave
from the River Road commuter parking lot in Norwich by the Ledyard
Bridge at 7:00 AM that morning.
