Two Turkey Vultures hovering over the Lyme Common

On River Rd., the Grant Brook area is starting to open up - saw several
Hooded Mergansers: 4 drakes and 1 hen. Two Canada Geese on the CT River
edge sounded the alarm as I approached.

Large flock of Common Grackles - approximately 60 - by the Montshire Museum
entrance mid-morning.

A brief check on the open waters near Ledyard Bridge mid-afternoon:
Canada Goose - 7
Wood Duck - 3 drakes and 1 hen
Hooded Merganser - 1 pair
Mallard - 2 drakes and 1 hen
Song Sparrow - 6
Common Grackle - 1
American Crows - didn't bother counting
