On our evening walk around the loop, there was much commotion among
the thrushes. Four Wood Thrushes, a Hermit Thrush, and a Veery were
all mobbing a young Barred Owl. It was not pleased. As we entered
an opening, Marianne spied a Common Nighthawk. It was the first we
have seen in 29 years on Camp Hill Road in Weathersfield.
