This afternoon I saw a pair of mature bald eagles standing on the ice on the south end of Lake Runnemede in Windsor. I walked around the peninsulato the gazebo and they took off right in front of me, in opposite directions, one going to roost on a tall tree up on the high bank there. Most of the lakeis now iced over but there are still some open areas.
