Watching the pond early this morning, I saw the reflection of a large bird flying. Looked up and it was an osprey coming right toward me, and another one glided behind it. Very silent. Also heard a cardinal whistling, had 2 all winter but not seen or heard at all for a couple months. I finally spotted a very small bird I had been hearing, new to me, Least Flycatcher, check-check-check-check. Thanks, Bill Shepard for his recent post including one on his list to help my search. Lots-lots-lots of black flies too. Yippee.
