Eleven of us hopeful birders came out today to see what was happening at Boston Lot Lake. It was such a gray day that we had difficulty seeing color, and water was rushing down the hill so it was difficult to hear songs, so we don't know what kind of gulls we saw flying; was that really a blue-headed vireo we spotted; was that trilling warbler in the pines really a pine warbler; that kinglet, a ruby-crowned or a golden crowned; the swallows flying over the water; and a Louisiana or a northern waterthrush?

The birds we were sure of, though:
common mergansers
Canada geese
common grackles
winter wren
downy woodpecker
bc chickadee
Am robin
blue jay
no. flicker
song sparrows
e phoebe
common loons
ring-necked ducks
yellow-rumped warbler
