I just spent >10 minutes watching an immature Great Cormorant perched with 2 Double-cresteds on the rocks below Wilder Dam. Great views through my spotting scope, and a chance to compare the two species side by side. Unfortunately, the Great and one Double-crested took off, circled right over my head, and headed south over the river, disappearing from sight. It might be worth checking the gravel bars from Lyman Point Park. Hopefully this bird will stay in the area, as the GRCO at Mill Pond in Windsor did last fall.
