For those Upper Valley birders who might  not already have heard about it,  "A Photographic Guide for Aging Nestling Cooper's Hawks" can be seen at https://www.fws.gov/southwest/migratorybirds/docs/HawkChickAgingGuide2018ver2.pdf

This new (2018) publication, thoroughly illustrated with color photographs and a "must" for Cooper's Hawk devotees, can be enjoyed anyone interested in birds. Many of the photographs show birds in or around nests in Thetford Center where they were photographed over a two year period by coauthor Tig Tillinghast of Thetford. The other coauthors are Kristin Madden, who contributed photographs of captive hawks, and  Brian Millsap, who contributed additional pictures of birds in the wild.
