This is a reminder that Mascoma Chapter of New Hampshire Audubon is holding a bird walk at Bedell Bridge State Historic Park from 7 to 9:30 AM on Saturday May 25, 2019. This walk, to be led by Jeff MacQueen and George Clark, is free and open to the public. All experience levels are welcome. Bring binoculars and wear footgear suitable for possibly damp conditions underfoot. In the unfortunate event of steady heavy rain, the walk will be cancelled.

Road routes:

Carpoolers are to meet at 6:30 AM in the parking lot on the Norwich side of the Ledyard Bridge. If coming from Hanover, cross the Ledyard Bridge and take an immediate right turn onto River Road in Norwich. Then take an immediate left into the unpaved parking lot where free public parking is available on Saturdays.

Alternatively, if not carpooling and coming from the south on the Vermont side of the Connecticut River, use either I-91 or US Route 5. Turn onto VT Route 25 in Bradford and go east, crossing the Connecticut River. Two hundred+/- yards after crossing into NH, River Road is on the left. Turn onto it and drive north to its junction with NH Route 10. Go left and head north past Haverhill Green. On the left about a 100 yards past the green,  a sign indicates that the road for the Bedell Bridge site is just ahead. Turn left onto Meadow Road and follow it all the way westward to the river where parking is near the boat launch.

If coming from the south on NH Route 10, head north past Haverhill Green and then follow the above directions to the boat launch area.
