On today's very cool and frosty morning, with a southerly breeze
extending an American flag away from its pole for much of the time,
eight birders participated in an Eagle Watch at Wilder Dam in
Hartford, VT, as arranged by the Mascoma Chapter of New Hampshire
Audubon. Highlights included 2 adult Bald Eagles sitting close
together in trees on the New Hampshire side of the Connecticut River.
Small numbers of Hooded and Common Mergansers were seen. Rock Pigeons
were the most numerous bird species with a count of 21. Passerines
included a Blue Jay, 12 crows, 2 American Robins, and 3 House Finches.

Special thanks to Scott Johnson, Vic Henningsen, Blake Allison, Justin
Hybels, and Ralph Hybels for helping to spot birds.
