A singing yellow-breasted chat was near the intersection of River Road and Sand Hill Road in Bethel this morning around 7:30. It was in the lone, tall butternut on the hill, and then flew down to some scrubby habitat behind. It sang in continuous chat-fashion for the 15 minutes I was there. This is eBird hotspot "Long Meadow Farm".

According to eBird, the last Windsor county chat was in 1991.

Kyle
