We have had a male cardinal attacking his reflection in our window for several years. He lands in the lilac bush, and then repeatedly throws himself at the nearby window. He doesn't seem to learn that the offending male will *always* be in the window when he is there, and immune to attack.

Subject: [UVB] Cardinals

We've had a pair of cardinals on a bush right outside the window every morning for weeks. The male flies at the window again and again and lands on the sill and looks in and generally makes noise for a few minutes then flies off. I thought he was seeing his reflection in the south-facing window but this morning it was different window, on the west side in the shade. What would make him do this?

Merit
