A male ring-necked pheasant alerted me to his arrival in my vegetable garden this morning with a sharp greeting. He gave me time to go in and get binoculars and a camera. What a stunning visitor! I was able to stand within 10 feet of him and followed him to be sure he got across Greensboro Road safely.

Can anyone fill me in about the status of this bird in the Upper Valley?
