Been hearing constant drumming for a couple weeks, recently saw one at the top of a nearby maple tree in early morning sunlight, and this afternoon two walked side-by-side feeding as we watched from close range.  I’d say “pair in suitable habitat’!  Hope they are eating the ticks and glad to provide the habitat.  A few years ago we had a family of grouse walk through the yard.
