Jim Block is to be presenting a program on "Birding on Five Islands in Maine" at 7:00 PM on Tuesday February 18, 2020, in the Mayer Room of the Howe Library in Hanover, NH. This free program is open to the public and has been arranged by Mascoma Chapter of New Hampshire Audubon.

Islands off the coast of Maine can be very attractive to birds, both in migration and during other times of the year. Jim Block will show photos of five islands and the birds and other wildlife he found on them. Two of the islands are rarely visited by birders, yet they harbor interesting wildlife. North to south, the islands are: Machias Seal Island, Sears Island, Squirrel Island, Monhegan Island, and Appledore Island.

Jim Block is an outstanding photographer and well known in the Upper Valley. His photographs, which have provided great pleasure to countless viewers, have appeared in numerous publications, including the three maps for the Connecticut River Birding Trail.
