Thanks Doug and Cliff.

I spent part of Friday testing how to get the Epson TX710W do do any printing, from my iMac anyway, without using a direct connection via cable.

No go really. I'll stay with a direct USB cable from iMac to printer so wife's MacBook can still print through me.
As a by-product, using this method also keeps VueScan in good shape.
