hello Doug and Brian

Been off the air for a day or two while I wiped
my HD and did a totally clean install. At last I
have overcome the problem of the insane calendar
error! (Some things dated 09 instead of 11, and
both 09 and 11 showing up as the year in
different parts of the Date & Time prefs.)

BUT -- onward to your problem. Dammit, we had
this same problem here, Brian, with my daughter's
and my computers, when we started using wireless,
and it was most frustrating. We have a wireless
modem which is connected by Ethernet to the (old
-- all our printers are always old) Kyocera laser
printer, and we both contact it through the
wireless modem.

For some time, my daughter was printing through
me. I have to say I can't remember how we finally
figured it out, but we did in the end after
metaphorically bashing and crashing at everything
in sight. I am sure it was advice from this list
that finally got us connected properly, so
although the mushy brain won't fire the required
synapses, there ought to be something in the
archives here.

cheers, geoff
