The printer is there at the end of the cable and I can access it via:

http://127.0.0.1:631/printers/

but then it refuses to print. No problems with the usb.

I suspect I have too many Xerox drivers - Xerox lent me the multifunction machine during the repairs - and it might be a good idea to remove them all before reinstalling. How do I do this ?
